Kindler's Collar: A Pyro Misc Item

POOT DISPENSA HEER

Postby Ignis Solus » Fri May 21, 2010 4:50 am

I am practicing modeling in my spare time, and I have started work on an item for Pyro, my favorite class.

To motivate myself and get advice, I'm going to post my progress on the project on this forum, hopefully in the right spot too. :B

So far I only have concept art, painted in SAI.

I've decided on team colors since a black or dark gray blends in with Pyro's mask too well, what do you think of the colors? Too dark? Too bright? Looks like poop? Should the metal parts be silver on BLU and gold or bronze on RED, or should both sides have the same steel? Have a better name to throw at me? I'm open to anything! :D

EDIT 1: I changed the name from Psycho's Strap to Kindler's Collar

EDIT 2: MODELS POSTED!!! Look through the thread. When I'm mostly done I'll link to the precise posts.

oh deary me, pyro doggy.
i like the little fire tag you gave them hehe. concept seems good so far. perhaps making the red one a little bit of a brighter red ?

and perhaps gold/silver would work. bronze is kinda dark and hard to see combined with the blue/red color. but both having silver seems to work out just fine too.

Eh, I think I like the darker red better myself, but maybe it's because I'm just partial to dark red.
Who do you think you are? Bleeding Action Man?!

The colors look right to me, just have an image of the Pyro handy for reference. A lot of mods I see don't blend with the TF2 style. This will blend well I think.

Engineers pet.

*Runs outta really quick out of here!*

You should consider taking a screenshot of pyro and draw the collar on top of him to see how it looks like. Apparently that's how TF2 internal artists does it with game design, then translate it into 3D models.

Thats awesome! Very nice. Is it possible for you to install jigglebones on the tag? That would make it super awesome :D

If I can find a tutorial on how to make jigglebones, I will.
