Rebooting the series, destructible environment, and you get to pick your Mech and then upgrade it as the game goes on. Sounds interesting to me. But then, the last Mechwarrior game I played, I was in a customized Timber Wolf with a bear head painted on the side, and was capable of taking out a dozen hundred-tonners with only an arm going into the yellow.

Whoah... dude. Just when I feared the worst and thought the series had died completely...

Atlas was one of the Unseen too, I think. And if I don't miss my guess, that light mech was a Jenner.
I wonder if they'll include the option for playing a LAM.

nah, atlas was never one of the unseen (thank god),
and ya, first was a jenner, that forward cockpit dome is just to unmistakable, that and it look like it fired 4 medium lasers, and one srm-4 pack
as for lam's: as kickass as that would be, somehow i doubt it
they seem to be the redheaded stepchildren of battletech,

Looks like they might've done some redesign work on the Atlas then. Warhammer too, now that I think about it. Doesn't seem to fit the pictures I remember from my copy of the 3025, as old as that thing is.

If you watch the HUD it actually gives the specific variants of the mechs under the readouts. Also, it's not Mechwarrior 5, it's just Mechwarrior. This is a full series reboot, all the way back to 3015. I don't think anyone saw it coming.
What does this mean?
Lots less fancy tech. No ER or Pulse lasers, no Clan tech PERIOD, no double heatsinks, that kinda thing. PPCs, ACs, no gauss, varying sizes of SRM and LRM racks, MGs of course, but otherwise lots of pretty standard stuff.
Also, MekTek.net will be distributing MW4 Mercs, it's expansions, MekPak 3.1, and all sorts of other goodies pretty soon. No CD protection or anything. Absolutely free.

Ah yes. Takes me back to my first days of owning Tech Readout 3025.
