Plantronics 405 headset has a good mic built in. Actually most Plantronics mics are typically higher end on voice quality.

If you can, use the native analogue connections. The USB chip Plantronics use is from CMedia (infact, the CMedia CM108), and they have a well known problem in which you cannot use them for more than an hour before your mic audio starts turning metalic very fast... in other words, you start "Cylon"ing.
If you've played with me (and can stand my geeky voice), you would of heard how a Logitech Clear Chat street-style headset is. I'm finding those fit my head better than normal headsets are. You may need to dig through Best Buy or Office Depot to get them.

Okay, what I'm gunna suggest is 60 bucks, but I've seen them for 50 bucks at times.
The Turtle Beach EarForce X11 Gaming Headset
I own a pair and run those off the front of my PC. They have a ton of cable, mostly because they were designed for folks who had Xbox 360s, but they can double up as PC headphones just as easily and are designed to do just that. You do need a free USB port to power them though, but the sound quality is really nice. Just a suggestion.
