No crits is fine. Lowering damage is crazy though, that would mess up all sorts of stuff, especially since it wouldn't lower health, thus making things like the heavy even more powerful.

Lowering the damage would whack the game balance. >_> Are you thinking of disabled the "varying damage" thing... I forgot the name of said cvar but it removes the randomness from Weapon damage.

dmgspread, and it would be a bad idea to turn this off, I don't see any actual Comps turning this off, but turning off criticals is a must, not only it's less annoying, but it makes the Kritzkrieg a more viable weapon/tactic

Actually most tournaments that I've seen have tf_damage_disablespread set to 1. Makes sense since they're trying to limit randomness as much as possible

I think the maps to play would depend on what size "teams" we get rolling around for this tourney-kajigger.
Trying to play 12-man teams in Arena is going to be 100% lolworthy; likewise, KotH is going to be 10x as annoying with up to 2x as many people running around.
Let the records also state that I ubiquitously dislike plr_pipeline; everything is ruined by that last point. Whoever holds the middle ground wins that last point, and 95% of the time 4/5 to 3/4 of the team is running around on the bottom level doing jack squat as they try to push the cart, only to have it roll back down the hill because they get killed by enemies that have taken the middle ground :V
