Have you run updates for Windows, for your Antivirus and Antispyware software, and have you run said software?
Have you run Scandisk on your drive?
Are all your drivers up to date?

Yep, run a full diagnostic on your system. If at worse, $90 for Spinrite may fix the problem.

Check the event log of Windows (you find it under the admin tools of Control panel).
If something really bad is happening hardware wise, Windows usually at least get some hint of it.
