In the last TF2 update, they added support for a game mode called PropHunt. Has anyone played on a PropHunt server yet? I really don't know what it is either.

We had a PropHunt modded server for a short while to play it. I'm not sure how it'll work now with the mods to the weapons.

I imagine killing props is a bit harder now, considering the nerfs to flame damage and afterburn that have been put in place.

Considering how many "hyper" servers exist, I'm sure that it is easily moddable back to normal for prophunt, shouldn't be toooooo changed... >>

We should run another prophunt even sometime, that was fun.

They didnt add functionality for PropHunt. They reverted some changes from Update #119 which killed the existing PropHunt mod.

It does show that they are aware of the mod and do not wish to cripple it. But I doubt it means we will see PropHunt in an official roll-out anytime in the near future.

Yeah, Valve added mechanics to stop servers from modifying player hats on the go by simple making it up to each TF2 client to doublecheck what a certain character wears instead of the server. A bit controversial change.

Voogru himself started up a petition on that, as it broke more than just the Equipment Manager and the Prop Hunt itself:
