I need to look through them later, probably wind up choosing one of the builder friendly civilizations for the first time through.

Silly gami, there are no dutch in Civ 5, not yet anyways. They weren't added until the 2nd expansion of civ 4 :X

They were one of my favorites in Civ IV, but partially cause they are one of the (debatable overpowered) financial civilizations, with dikes as awesome special building (nice production boast for coastal cities). Probably one of the most useful special buildings in the whole game.

Now if only the actual Dutch were that useful. *crowds of booing behind him*

Meh, I go more by what attributes the Civs have than who they actually are, but at one point or another I'd be using England. Once I get the game I'll be able to find out which is my favourite.

I've not played Civ 4 yet; I played the updated version of Colonization and it rather put me off. Much as I've spent plenty of time playing the earlier Civ games (and the excellent Alpha Centauri) they do usually end up in that boring stage where every turn is making the same change of building orders in seemingly endless settlements. I'll probably pick up a copy when I see it cheap somewhere.

I'm trying to recall which civilisation I used in Civ 3, I think I mostly played as the Persians.
Now with added Brain Slug
