I could tell a good few stories about Tribes 2 myself. Particularly of epic shrike battles, noob snipers, noob bomber pilots, the all mighty shazbot and the great air wars mod.

Ah Shazbot... good times. Only problem is you'd have to have a decent sized group of people to get a good game in, unless you play one of the more hectic modes like rabbit or something. I'm particularly interested in trying The Ship if a good portion of you have HL1. For those who haven't heard of it, everybody is given another player in the game that they need to assassinate. So while you're trying to find a weapon and take out your target, you also need to take care of your "needs", kind of like The Sims, which keeps everybody in this paranoid state of vulnerability. Imagine playing TF2 where every other player is a spy (i.e. behaving awkwardly and possibly stalking you) but only one of them is actually trying to kill you. I've probably gotten more laughs out of this mod than any other game XD
