Just a note, the server is going to go down for a few days, no data will be lost.

It seems to be doing quite well as-is; my only troubles seem to involve my own machine, as they disappear when I reduce the visual distance.

Purchased the game and started playing around with the metagame aspects a bit.

First, I'd like to share something I discovered. If you play single-player and you request a new map, you have the option of a Huge map. It lives up to its name. From spawn it faded into fog in all four directions, although one only just- it had about a dozen squares that were revealed when I went that direction, and those would've been missed save that it was all sea-level ground hidden behind a slight ridge.

Second, I started fooling around with a 384x384 map in Omen. It's pretty freaking huge when you get right down to it: I don't think anyone's bothered to come look at what I'm building on Pathia's server, but a 50x50 area is 2500 blocks. That is a tremendous amount of space when you start clearing land or digging out a room. On a 384x384 map, you can fit thirty-six 64x64 plots. And with a map depth of 128, that gives you 524,288 cubes of space. I'm not sure we even have eighteen people who log in and build things.

I'm thinking that's going to require a lot of blocks. If only as scaffolding to get you up high enough and let you get around to the proper angles.
