Has anyone tried them? The Jail one/Nova prospekt ones are a decent play through other then your AI teammates path finding is pretty messed up :P

I recommend that you wait. Source SDK hasn't been updated for Left 4 Dead yet, so those maps are pretty unstable.

I've goofed with the converted Dustbowl one.

It's pretty fun, but maps will DEFINITELY be better after SDK.

You have to manually change maps yourself in a campaign, but other then that they did better then I thought they would. Its nice break from the humdrum of normal campaigns.

Mhnnm. Btw, I have a link to the dustbowl one if anyone wants it. I can't get textures to work for it, though. :/ I extracted everything to the right folders.

Now that the full SDK is out. I've loaded up Damit and Death Aboard on my server.

Damit is well done and REALLY REALLY hard. It's only a single map, but it's long and very intense. I'd call it 'endurance mode'. It's the first time in ages that I've struggled to beat something on Advanced, we had to drop down to normal.

Indeed.

Folks, we ran through Dam-It last night. It's just shy of the full length of a normal campaign with the safe rooms removed, and only 1/5th of the health packs. Get wiped out and you restart it all over again. The campaign, however, is done in a somewhat unusual fashion code-wise and is a bit quirky, so read the read-me file so you know what to expect before you play it or you might think something's wrong with it.
