How best to introduce a non-fur to TFP?

Well; me and my blabbering mouth have really piqued the curiosity about Team Fortress 2 to some of my friends in school. The big issue is, one is actually going out and buying the PC version and wants to play on 'my' (our) server. Now, I've already told him it's a disturbing land of disturbing people and porn sprays. I've told him somewhat censored stories of things that happen in-game; all the good times. What I haven't told him is that it's a furry server. Not only will this be the first time I've introduced a real friend or known-person to the fandom; I'm not even sure of his stance on the whole thing. He's a crazy guy though; and knows a bit more about internet memes than I woulda' thought. All in all, I'm just asking for any suggestions or tips on how to best handle this. Though I don't think he'd blab, I don't need people at school, or my parents for that matter, knowing I'm a furry. :v

Mention the word furry around him.

once he finds out you're a furry, everyone in school will find out, I'd suggest playing on a different server with the guy

Well, hmm... if he does join TFP, make sure you don't have anything furry in your steam, and change your icon, of course easy hints. Just tell him, you play with these furries since they are better than other people you play against, and you grew to be with them, pretending you are a non-fur.

*sigh*
Personally, I hate the idea of misleading someone about who you are and don't think that anyone should have to hide any part of themselves. That said, if this person friends Doom, he'll follow him here eventually or else we might as well just write Doom off as part of the community and I don't think anyone *really* wants that (despite what they may say in game in the face of his winbombs).
Personally? I'd explain in a nonchalant way what furry is (i.e a liking for anthropomorphic animals and drawings thereof) and leave it there. If he has any more questions, handle 'em as it comes up but definitely don't treat it as if it's some huge hush hush or secret thing. I've had to explain it to more than one person (several who have seen the CSI episode) and usually once I explain it as such people just go on with their lives.
But maybe that's just me.
