Hmm, an idea

for the scouts that are going to be on the teams, would it work to find an insta-fast (5 sec) spawn maps or something? Mostly to do 1v1 stuff and get in practice, eh?

TR_Walkway is good, but it pales compared to the real thing.

You'll find me on Pro Like Chro this weekend mostly. (What with the insanity that'll be the soldier and demo update.)

edit: Same might work for soldiers/demos. Though I figure walkway might be better, what with the launchpad.

How about you guys start your own PUG group? Maybe a few nights, between your large community... I'm sure you could field enough people to do like 4 teams of 6s and maybe a small tournament or something... It is a useful step before you jump straight into competing. It's more fun playing eachother and you can pick up the skills / mindset you need before you advance into dealing with experienced teams.

very true, there's nothing better than Pick-Up Games, the community should consider doing these before thinking of joining "the big leagues", I would join too, even if my ping would be high :P

This update has changed things. Nobody knows what impact it's going to have on tournament play, but one thing is for sure.

Interest in competitive play has plummeted. Yes, you admins can snicker, point and laugh all you want (I know which of you has ridiculed this).

If folks show their support for it, perhaps we can get it set up after all. Although, I was never interested in spearheading this project beyond its startup, with the full intention of handing the reigns to someone more capable than I. So far, nobody has shown interest in taking the lead, and every day someone tells me they want to opt out.

I'm not calling this thing off, but new update pretty much broke this camel's back.
