Petition: Arena maps, nominate only

Discuss TF2! Or don't. Whatever takes your fancy.

I noticed something really annoying the other night (late at night)... One of the main servers, like #1 or #2, was stuck on Arena and no one was in it. I joined it and attempt to Nominate and RTV. I nominated Badwater and it instantly brought up a map change vote... but the ONLY options that came up, were MORE ARENA MAPS with the exception of the only non-arena being Egypt which often ensures no one will join. Badwater wasn't even an option for some reason. Then when I attempted to RTV, it simply said there wasn't enough players to even initiate it.

I don't get this? Does the current system actually require all Arena maps to be run through too before you can return to the other more popular maps that were already played? And what's up with the limitation on RTV? Doesn't that just ensure that the server STAYS dead until enough people coordinate together to overturn it?

No it's to make sure that someone just dosen't RTV over and over again. You have to keep in mind that that computers rounds down, and our current requirement with RTV is that 60% of the server population is RTV'ing. With 3 players this means it's just enough with one player RTV'ing. And the minimum for RTV is four people.

Type "nominate" in chat and you'll get a menu showing the maps you can nominate, then press the number of the map you want to nominate.
Who do you think you are? Bleeding Action Man?!

Perhaps we should just make the !revote option more well-known.

Assuming we can do so over the fairly commonplace bitching about the next map that seems to take place for the last ten minutes of the current one. Regardless of the choice.
