As MaskedJackal has said, the lack of overheal is a big drawback and not being completely invulnerable during a push can cause an uber to fail easily. I don't see the QF being used much in competitive play for this reason, but I think it could replace the normal medigun in a lot of situations in pub play since you're surrounded by more players who always need heals.
The main problem I see with the QF is the patient underestimating what they can do when it's deployed and not knowing when it has been deployed. I wish I saved the replay of it but last night Tails used it on me as a demo and together we were able to push back a group of 4-6 BLUs about to push the cart to the next point; you've got to have no fear when the QF gets deployed on you, treat it as a normal uber and charge in! The QF deploy also needs some kind of visual indication, the only way I can tell it's being used currently is the wub-blub-wub noise it makes, a lot of patients may miss the cue to play aggressively.

Even while jumping? I am seeing stage 2 of dustbowl here wondering if a heavy can leap off that ledge into a sentry and not get launched to the moon.
