That'll be interesting to see. A sniper that actually has to be in a closer range of his target... I wonder what kind of tradeoff Valve has in store for this new sniper rifle?

Hmmm... yes, a crossbow would be awesome. I could actually see that as an actual unlock, it could have a slight arc, and it could be set to do less damage from farther away forcing the sniper to get closer to his target...
