Steam Beta: Trading update!

That's right, trading is now integrated into the steam (beta) client! Right now you can only trade TF2 items and steam gifts, but the idea is probably having more games implement the steam trading system, which for now, only seem to be used by TF2 (Portal 2 should have it soon though, and DOTA2 whenever it's released). I suspect this was done out of necessity as items for steam gifts were very common kind of "illicit" trade (There was no policy against it, but you was helpless if you were scammed...).
Look for beta participation under the settings window of Steam (rightclick on steam icon -> settings).

If they're in your games library, then no, you can't gift them and trade them. You can only trade gift copies you haven't sent yet. Like from buying as a gift on the store or if you have extra copies of a game like from when you bought the Orange Box or from the recent potato give away thing where people got the Valve complete pack.
Who do you think you are? Bleeding Action Man?!
