Recently people noticed that they still got ear buds, probably due to a Valve mistake (they could as well make it a permament Mac drop :p). So they extended the dropdate officially to 16th august. So if you missed out on them, you still have a chance to login on a Mac and get them.

I found that you do not even need a machine that can run TF2 properly.
I got my earbuds with a MacMini whose graphics capabilities are considered too low to play the game.
When I launched the game, it complained that the graphics were below recommended levels, but I hit continue anyway.
I got the typical full screen splash image of TF2 loading, but when it was fully loaded the screen just sat and flickered.
I could not see the menu to start a game, but I could blindly pull up the console and type EXIT.
Then I launched TF2 in Windows and *poof* earbuds!

Everything I've learned in TF2, I've learned from watching Doom kick my ass!

Meh, I never thought the earbuds looked that great... I don't have a Mac to get my own and I'm not stupid enough to ask someone who does to do it for me.
Who do you think you are? Bleeding Action Man?!

They're technically a disadvantage to wear, since they are 100% bright at all times (like those Mac commercials). Even in pitch black areas they glow white.
I use them on the scout since they work nicely as a replacement for his headphonething when you're using hats on him.
