They've mentioned before that there's been a lot of discussion about 10th classes, and a good number of the ideas have ended up being reworked as gear for existing classes in the past. So I'm not terribly surprised they're looking at this one as well. I think their response in the blog was likely due to the amount of effort that went into this joke- they decided it was worthy of some art of their own. Personally I think I would've gone with something a little less bulky- say, closer to companion's harness made out of straps and cloth and so on, with hard rails on top for mounting gear- but otherwise it's decent.
