Player-Teacher Nights

For TFP server admins to post news or information related to the game servers.

The Original Message I Planned wrote:A kick-start to a pet project. Player-Teacher nights are similar to the class nights of old. What makes them different is that one player will spill the beans on all of their Team Fortress 2 knowledge to the server, to help both new and seasoned players pick up tips and tricks. The event runs on TFP #5 and lasts until said teacher or group gets bored, and can span through different maps. Anyone can request to host one of these, so if you feel like the community could benefit from your knowledge, shoot the admins a message.

These events run on a first-come first-serve basis, both in terms of requesting and joining. So if you want your night soon, or want to get into an event, be sure to be prepped and ready.

As for this actual event, I'm going to try to cover as wide a scope of topics as I can. If you want anything in specific looked-over, though, please don't hesitate to ask. The whole point of the event is to inform you, so questions are a good thing. I'm going to try to be general, but expect a good bit of the night being taken up on movement, ambush, teamwork, pairing up, demoman, spy and solider; with maybe a tip or two to medics, from the healie.

Hope to see'ya around!

Just as the message says, these events can be hosted by anyone with permission. It's an attempt to get our community a bit more intertwined with one another; other than just playing the actual game, why not teach it too?

Anywho, I'm going to try to keep this thread updated with other upcoming nights and things people might want to see at such a night. It's also a good place to request such a thing if you're shy on private messages.

I'd like to have a night like this. I'd pretty much cover the basics of playing an assault style pyro without resorting to W+M1. I'd mostly cover using the versatile airblast to it's full potential as well as utilizing the pyro's other weapons because it's not just about the flamethrower!
Who do you think you are? Bleeding Action Man?!

A suggestion, when the nights are going to occur, don't put up a notice like a day before, or like hours before. A little notice goes a looong way my yena friend

These are going to have a lot more notice, normally; it was more or less due to my checking everything up and being lazy that got this in at the last second. I didn't want to wait another heel-dragging week to get one of these going, and the idea of them going too.

alright here is some thing to throw into your bucket of ideas: when to use the critskreg and what it is best to use it on in a certain situation (i.e. heavy for cleaning out a tight space like a hallway), and when it is better then a normal uber.

Is this kind of thing still going on?

I would like help in reflecting rockets as pyro. I just cannot seem to get that down, and it saddens me. D:

It was fun last time. Learned a lot. Like that the bomb can be blown off the tracks at the end of Badwater, thus preventing the end explosion.

I little gravity tweaking helped, but yes. Yes it can. :)
